It would not be an exaggeration if I say that technology has touched almost every aspect of human’s life. While writing this blog I had a look around and found that I am surrounded with various technological equipment, some of them I need on a regular basis and others although are used occasionally, still are a part and parcel of my life.
But do these daily emerging gadgets really serve the purposes of our life or unnecessarily they are paving their way into our lives and doing more harm than good?
Well, pros and cons are two obvious aspects of everything and certainly technology is not untouched with these two. Let us dig deep and make clear judgments.

Technology as a positive contributor
There is no denying the fact that technology has several benefits and its contribution to the human world is massive. Be it personal or professional life, people cannot do without it. For example, the invention of computers and many other technological equipment strive to make our life easier. Mobile phones help us to connect with the whole world in just fractions of seconds. The Internet provides us the information from around the world and enriches us with abundance of knowledge. A person can study from a university situated in another country and can avail all the learning benefits. Was it possible before humans developed the high tech world?
As far as the health segment of our life is concerned, with the help of technology, many grave and life taking diseases are being taken care of in the present. Many breakthroughs have been achieved in healthcare sectors and that is just because of the blessings of technology. Many scientists are still working and researching about future health prospects and they hope to create a world where with the help of technology they would be able to tackle more health concerns.
If we look at the agriculture arena, it has been succored by technology a lot. We cannot overlook the fact about the revolution that technology has brought in agriculture. Now crops are even grown faster and made available to the increasing population in no time. Even genetically modified foods are in trend now. According to various researches done on the nutritional efficacy of these types of food, it has been found that GM food are way healthier and do not possess any adverse properties.
Technology in a negative role
Let us turn towards the drawbacks of technology. Although technology has assisted us to interact with the whole world, it has limited our interaction with people who live with us, even in our homes. A huge gap has been created among the family members which seems tough to be bridged. In a research done on a group of students where they were asked questions about the time they spend with their kiths and kins. Students blatantly admitted that they no longer have time to sit with their parents and spend quality time with them as they are busy either doing study or using social media.
Technology has the tendency to bind a person to its sitting place. An individual forgets to leave his comfort zone and remains stuck to the computer, mobile phones or whatever the gadget he is holding. This is nothing but a bane for the health. Human body is meant to do the physical work and when it starts living the sedentary lifestyle, it tends to deteriorate gradually. This is exactly what is happening with humans today. Several health issues, such as weakened eyesight, obesity have been seen ruling the lives of many.
The biggest drawback associated with the technology is that now our lives are no longer our private lives. Every app or website now wants us to allow them to have a sneak peak in our personal data. Though some of those platforms are authentic, many cases of using the personal information by some fake platforms have also been reported. Apart from this, cybercrime is the biggest threat that today’s technical world is encountering. Any professional hacker can invade your privacy and steal your valuable information and you won’t even have any idea about it!
In my opinion, we are fortunate that we are bestowed with various gifts by technology. However, it is imperative that we tap on the right spots to make technology work the best for us.
