One of my favorites has to be the new Toyota RAV4 Prime. Trust me when I say this SUV is LIGHTNING quick off the line for its size – the 0-100km time of 6 seconds is seriously impressive. And getting over 60km on a single battery charge will cover most peoples daily drives no problemo. It might cost a pretty penny at $60k, but factoring in fuel savings and no emissions in EV mode, it adds up. Plus that tried and true Toyota reliability is priceless if you ask me.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 also caught my eye as a really cool option for those wanting a bit of luxury and style. Sleek fastback design combined with all the latest tech and safety gear inside – it’ll really make you feel like you’re driving the future. With 50km electric range and a sub 8 second 0-100, it’ll also give you a fun drive. And at $50k it’s not too tough on the wallet compared to some.
Then there’s also the proven Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV for those after a more practical small SUV. It might not look as flashy as the others, but you can’t argue with over 50km electric range and nearly 10 years on the market. Plus all the versatile cargo and passenger space you could need. Around $47k is fair value in my opinion.
Overall, I reckon these 3 plug-in hybrids show a lot of promise for cutting both costs and emissions here in Australia. Let me know if any other questions!
