Honda Accord 2022 – Everything you need to know about the redesign
Will The 2022 Honda Accord be Redesigned
Introduction
The newest model of Honda is making an arrival next year. The previous version has already gotten great reviews and high ratings and thus classifies as a tough competition to Volkswagen Passat.
The latest-generation Accord has little to nothing but positive things to say about it, and the 2022 version should not be any different. It’s a car that deserves to be at the top of our midsize sedan ratings. The Accord has some of the best cargo space and rear-seat in its market, thanks to Honda’s packaging skills. The Accord outperforms its competitors in terms of moving dynamics, and its outstanding value is the cherry on top.
The Honda Accord has long been regarded as a practical and comfortable five-seat midsize sedan. The last update of this midsize sedan happened in the year 2018, and it had lived up to expectations. However, in 2018, the coupe was removed in favour of a larger sedan design. It came in a more elegant version with a larger trunk area. Despite its midsize class, the sedan is more frequently referred to as a “tall car” because of the 40 inches of rear legroom. Now, people are eagerly waiting for the 2022 version of the vehicle, asking, “Will Honda Accord 2022 be redesigned?”
What can we expect different in Accord 2022?
Accord replaced the EX with the Sport Special Version in 2021 itself. The manual transmission that was previously available is not available now. More advancements in technology are being made, such as an 8-inch touchscreen monitor and mobile integration. Also, there is a wireless CarPlay for Android Auto and Apple. In the 2022 model, none of this is expected to change.
Specifications
Some revised works are to be completed when we talk about the preparations for the 2022 Honda Accord. We can’t say if they’re significant and large or small and insignificant right now. The materials and construction of the higher trims will be comparable to those used in luxury sedans – and certainly superior to those used in other less costly rivals. Honda Accord is the first model to undergo a redesign in 2022. The upcoming sedan will get even more updates in terms of construction. In general, we can anticipate a structure that is lower, more robust, and more stable.
Although the last version is not getting completely redesigned, there will be some tweaks and updates. The 2022 version will get two engines, which we also saw in earlier powertrains. The first one is a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-4 that drives the LX, Sport, EX, and EX-L models. In general, Accord delivers excellent results with this device. It has 192 horsepower and a torque of 192 lb-ft. This vehicle comes standard with a CVT automatic transmission, with a 6-speed manual transmission available on the Sport trim.
The Touring comes equipped with the second engine, which is optional on the EX-L and Sport version. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that generates 252 horsepower. Unlike the former powertrain, the more powerful engine is coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission, with a 6-speed manual transmission available on the Sport trim. On the other hand, a hybrid model is rumoured, and we expect to hear more about it soon.
However, it doesn’t matter which engine powers this vehicle; it has perfect handling, making navigation of curvy roads and long-journey convenient.
Interiors and exteriors
The interior of the vehicle is most likely to remain the same. But, there will be some enhancements via the skin part. The new Honda Accord will have a sporty look, keeping some of its classic features. The sports edition will have additional stainless and grille shutters, which will offer better aerodynamics.
Moreover, the new Accord will be able to connect with many technical devices. It will have a spacious interior with enough legroom in the rear seats. The base models will have a 7-inch display, 8-inch HD sunscreen and amazing surface touches.
On the outside, we can see a very light and minor one but an improved bumper. Customers who upgrade to the Touring package will receive more premium features. The Touring kit adds heated front seats, a head-up display, navigation, adjustable damper suspension, a wireless phone charger, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a mobile hotspot.
Safety
On the 2021 model, Honda included a series of driver-assist effective safety mechanisms as standard equipment, which should be carried over to the current model year. Some standard features for 2022 will include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic high-beams, and rear-seat warning.
Prices and release date
The possibility of releasing the latest version is fall next year. The basic LX model will cost around $25,000, while the hybrid one may cost slightly lower than the Touring model that starts at $37,000.
